Why work with Toronto Birth Doula?
We are not an agency.
Leah is an independent Doula who works with back-up doulas and provides a variety of in-person and online education and support options.
Not all doulas are made equal.
While doulas are not a regulated profession in Ontario, all doulas have substantially varying backgrounds, education and experience. Leah of Toronto Birth Doula prides herself in her extensive experience, continuing education and training in the fields of birth support, childbirth physiology, newborn care and more! in addition to her Labour & Birth Doula Training at CAPPA, Leah is a Certified Childbirth Educator (ProDoula), a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher (Power Yoga Canada), and holds training as a Midwives’ Assistant (The Farm Midwifery Centre), in Waterbirth (Waterbirth International/BirthPedia).
Mindfulness of care.
Leah is a highly safety-conscious, sensitively tuned in, empathic caregiver. With a balanced approach that embraces both modern medicine and ancient feminine wisdom, Leah offers a uniquely mindful care experience, bringing peacefulness to each family with whom she works! Leah lifts women and men up to be mindful parents, with emotional & physical support, informed care, and a baby whisperer’s touch!
